If you’ve landed on this page, it’s by no mistake, now’s the time to reflect. And take action.
You see, before you can put those big kahuna plans you’ve got in place for your business, you need to ask yourself:
WHAT ARE YOU REALLY GOOD AT?
WHAT DO YOU LOVE DOING THE MOST?
AND, WHAT DO YOU SUCK AT?!
Then, tell me someone who you think is seriously crushing it right now in everything they do?
Why? – This is a pretty good barometer to guide your next steps. So for example, have a think about what your business crush does to you.
How do they make you feel?
How do you respond to their offers and products?
How do you talk about them to others?
I bet a rush of positive stuff has sprung to mind.
Now, imagine what your life (and business) would be like if you created this vibe around you and your brand…
Are you smiling, you should be! After all, that kind of positivity would be pretty special, right?
So tell me, how do you fancy making this the year YOU make it happen?
Don’t tell me this level of business fame isn’t possible for you. That’s total bollocks. That disbelief is just a story in your head. What’s more, it’s keeping you small and you don’t have to listen to it. Got it?
And if you don’t believe me, check out this awesome quote from productivity guru, Michael Hyatt (I LOVE this!)
“If you don’t need God to pull off what you are planning, you are not dreaming big enough.”
OK, are you with me now?
Are you ready to stretch yourself way beyond the progress you made in 2014?
It’s time for the big girl pants!
Look, I’ve got a little challenge for you (should you chose to accept)…
I want to help you make 2015 the year you finally hit the big time by helping you to create and launch your ultimate expert brand.
Are you in?
If so, here’s what you have to do…
1. Forget the logo!
First up, I need you to ditch your attachment to your logo. Repeat after me… “Your logo is NOT your brand.”
That’s right. You are NOT defined by your logo – and as long as you hold onto this frustrating little fallacy, you are suffocating the potential of your brand to grow your business.
A brand goes way deeper than the colours, fonts, and graphical representations of your business.
That’s because your expert brand is you and your personality. Seriously, clients don’t choose to work with a fancy logo. Instead, they want to work with the expertise and the knowledge that you bring to the table. They want to work with you because of who you are.
2. Be more YOU!
That means a fundamental aspect of your profitable, personable brand is expressing (and embracing) YOUR personality.
So if you’re serious about becoming the “go-to” in your niche, you absolutely MUST let your personality shine through everything you do. That means putting your face out there – on a grand scale. And yes, I know it can feel scary, but please… quit the hiding will you!
It’s also time to freely express your natural voice.
Speak your truth.
Stop faking it with that silly tone, which nobody believes is you anyway!
Look, if you’re a fun-loving, touchy-feely type expert who believes that everything happens for a reason, let that be your truth. Let that be your positioning. Don’t try to present yourself as a stern professional. The inconsistency will feel just wrong.
Similarly, if you’re a naturally serious person, don’t try to paint yourself as the joker (because you think that’s what everyone else is like). You won’t be able to keep up the game. It will exhaust you (and undermine your credibility).
Screw Different and BE MORE YOU.
This is the biggest (and simplest) secret to your expert brand.
What’s more, you’ll have way more fun (and make a heap more money) if you do.
3. Scrap the shortcuts
Have you fallen into the trap of feeling guilty for working too hard?
All this talk of four-hour working weeks, freeing up time, and smart working can get you in a BIG tangle.
Seriously, it’s all gone wrong if you’re going to start prioritising “not working” over delivering a kick-ass client experience.
In fact, celebrating the “processes” you have to avoid talking on the phone really isn’t the brand victory you imagine.
After all, I bet you’ve done that for your benefit – not your client’s, right?
Making yourself more important than the people you serve is NOT good for business. Worst still, it will harm your expert brand.
An expert status is only possible WHEN you do the work.
Your work is the thing that makes you an expert in the first place!
Therefore, if you try to avoid it, how can you evolve and grow and get better!
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not telling you to burn the midnight oil – that would also be crazy.
But I am telling you to quit looking for shortcuts! Sorry. There is no easy route to an expert brand.
You have to put in the hours. You have to be with your clients. You have to not feel guilty. And above all you have to be confident. Without confidence, you’re stuffed.
4. Get help
In order to do your best work and establish your expert status, you need help.
You cannot possibly do everything yourself. In fact, it’s madness to try.
Instead, do what you do best – and then get expert help for the rest.
Don’t skimp on this. Don’t be a control freak. Don’t kid yourself that no one will do it as good as you.
Do invest in the resources needed to hire the very best.
Here’s what happens when you do:
For starters, you’ll free up valuable time giving you more space and energy to concentrate on the stuff you love the most.
You’ll get way more done because you won’t have to deal with the stuff that lies outside your core skills.
Your expert brand will evolve because the experts that you hire will do a much better job than you ever could.
5. Invest in your brand
Finally, if you’re serious about creating an expert brand, then you need a brand style that best suits you.
This is exactly what I create with clients during my one day DeeBrand Kick-Starters.
Working one-to-one, we start by exploring your CORE. Remember, an expert brand MUST be built on your personality.
This is a non-negotiable.
As a result, we’ll get really clear on who you are as an expert, what you bring to the table, and how you want clients to think and feel when they encounter your brand.
This process is incredibly deep and revealing…
You see, it’s incredibly valuable knowing HOW you want to come across in your business. Once you are clear on the core personality features that make up your brand, it’s so much easier to amplify and live them.
Then once we’re clear on the fundamentals that best represent your expertise, we’ll get busy choosing colours, fonts and imagery.
In short, we’ll create the visuals that bring your brand to life.
And whilst this will include a logo in the sense that you’ll want a “mark” to signify your brand, we won’t stop there.
You see, we’ll also chat about other visual representations that your brand needs to help you achieve your planned business celebrity status during 2015.
For example, you may need some “name-gos” to integrate various products and services under your brand umbrella. You may need branded e-books or course material. You may also want social share images for Facebook or featured images for your blog.
In this way, branding spills over into a growing collection of invaluable visual marketing graphics – the type of things, which I create for my VIP, More You clients on a monthly basis.
Are you ready to claim your expert space?
It’s my mission to help experts create their very own kick-ass personable brands.
As well as my existing free and paid-for resources, I’ve got a ton of new stuff coming in the New Year. So keep your eyes on the blog for the latest…
Plus, I’m on the hunt for a small number of business owners who are serious about claiming the expert space that awaits them and would like to work one-to-one with me.
Now this opportunity isn’t for everybody. In fact, this opportunity is only for you if your big kahuna plans for 2015 scare the serious shit out of you!
So if your plans are off the scale and you know that you need a kick-ass expert brand that can grow with you and help you claim your niche, let’s chat about your DeeBrand.
I’ve opened up my diary for a small number of “Get DeeBranded” chats where you can quiz me and get the answers you need. These are totally no obligation – after all; this process only works if we’re a good match. But you won’t know that unless we chat, so just on this link to book a time that suits you.
And remember, in the words of Brad Sugars…
“Set a goal so big that you can’t achieve it until you grow into the person who can…”
